KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Rob Van Der Like, Communities of Christian Caring
ABOUT THE EVENT: We’re excited to invite everyone to our upcoming event celebrating Christian Science nurses. We’re grateful to have a keynote address from Rob Van Der Like of Communities of Christian Caring, a resource that offers networking and inspiration for Christian Scientists who care for others outside the role of a Christian Science nurse. His talk will be followed by a barbecue lunch, friendly sharing of ideas about Christian Caring, and open house tours of Sunrise Haven’s facility.
NOTE: You are especially encouraged to invite branch church Care Committee members and anyone actively providing care for others to this discussion!
JOIN US IN OUR HEALING WORK: Sunrise Haven’s Relaunched Education Program
Curriculum: Uses the Le Verger curriculum for Christian Science Nursing, making Sunrise Haven one of two US facilities using it.
Teaching Methods:
Textbooks: The Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
Mentorship: Students work in pairs with experienced Christian Science nurses and are mentored by the entire facility staff.
Program Structure:
Flexibility: One-on-one instruction allows for flexible start dates and schedules.
Employment: Students are employed full-time during training, removing financial barriers.
Prerequisites: Students must live locally, and have taken Primary Class Instruction in Christian Science.
Outreach: Pam Greene is available to speak at church meetings to share this opportunity.
