Individuals, families, churches, and grant-making organizations in the Pacific Northwest region and beyond sustain Sunrise Haven through their prayers, by volunteering, and with financial gifts and bequests.

Volunteers of all ages provide patients, guests, and staff with an extended "family" and a supplemental cadre of workers to help in a number of areas.

Our Prayerful Support Group is comprised of individuals who join in prayerful consideration of a spiritual concept that Sunrise Haven staff and trustees are working to demonstrate with increased clarity. A topic such as home, nutrition, balance, and inspiration is chosen monthly and communicated by phone or email to support group members.

Sunrise Haven Representatives assist the Sunrise Haven Board of Trustees by communicating with church members about Sunrise Haven's purpose, services, and activities. Through brief reports at church business meetings and in newsletters, the Representatives help Christian Scientists understand the place of Christian Science nursing in the Christian Science movement, familiarize them with the services available, and inform them of practical ways they can support Sunrise Haven.

Volunteer First and Second Readers, serving in rotation about every two months, conduct Sunday church services and Wednesday testimony meetings for Sunrise Haven patients, guests, and staff.

The Sunrise Haven Board of Trustees is comprised of volunteers who bring a wide range of business and professional expertise to the governance of the organization. Other volunteers serve on board-appointed committees, e.g., the Communications Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Investment Committee.

Other vital volunteer activities include reading one-on-one to patients, answering phones, putting together mailings, and helping maintain our gardens.

Young people are very welcome and appreciated at Sunrise Haven. If you are completing community service requirements for high school graduation (or not), we invite you to call to talk about ways you might assist at Sunrise Haven.

Sunrise Haven depends upon strong and continuous financial support from its field to maintain its day-to-day operations. Each loving gift, in any amount, breathes life into Sunrise Haven and strengthens its service into the future.

Financial contributions to Sunrise Haven usually take the form of donations to the General and/or Benevolence Funds.

• A commitment to give monthly or quarterly provides regular consistent support. To make monthly donations, add Sunrise Haven to your monthly bill payment cycle or activate regular donations through an EFT (electronic funds transfer) from your bank account.
• Matching donations through an employer's Matching Gifts Program can double or triple your personal gift. When giving to United Way, you can specify that your donation go to Sunrise Haven (at the time of donation, simply supply United Way with our name, address, and phone number).
• Take advantage of a tax-free gift option. Donate your mandatory IRA withdrawl through a IRA Charitable rollover. Please contact our executive director for details.

Planned Giving. We encourage and assist our supporters in the development of planned giving. With careful attention to provisions in both Federal and State tax codes, there can be substantial benefits to you, your loved ones, and Sunrise Haven on both a current and a long-term basis.
